Carol Marine resides in Austin, TX with her husband David and son Jacob. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art, though because her professors didn't do much in the way of teaching, Carol considers herself largely self-taught.

Carol currently shows her larger work in the Wally Workman Gallery. In October 2006 Carol began her painting a day project and has thoroughly enjoyed the freedom gained by painting small and often. Her subjects are usually ordinary objects, often fruit, but Carol likes to think of them as color explorations.

I love to paint and do so as often as possible. I find beauty in everyday things, and am thoroughly captivated by color relationships. Being a full-time mom leaves me only a limited time each day to paint, but barring sickness I usually have a painting done every day.

Carol’s work has been featured in local and national magazines, including Southwest Art. In 2006 she was invited to participate in the “Artist for the New Century” show at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont. Carol is the Vice President of Plein Air Austin and paints out with them as often as she can.
